New ASB (Anti Social Behaviour System) Report Suite for Sefton Council

HUBSolutions was approached by new management at Sefton Metropolitan District Council, to explain and improve the existing report suite, which has been on the system since 2005, when the system was first purchased.

The company decided that this was a good opportunity to completely replace the reports using the latest facilities in MS Excel. However, before doing so, a forensic investigation of the data which had been recorded, revealed some issues which would limit the value of any report. We found that certain values which the reports depended on were missing. However these values could be calculated default settings and therefore we update thousands of historic records to get them into the best possible format.

We then set about creating the basic reports which any customer would need, with a view to these being core templates for our whole customer base.

Those reports were

  • Active Case Profile

  • New Cases Created Profile

  • Closed Cases Profile

  • Actions created

  • Incidents recorded

  • Persons Profile

Each report was built from new comprehensive Views of the data which carried out numerous calculations to be included. For example - for each Case record, the calculated number of Victims, Perpetrators, Witnesses and Actions was available to be listed and selected upon.

Each report was to offer “Slicer” selection controls for ease of use.

Each report would include a chart (graph) on the same page as the data.

An online user familiarisation session allowed us to show our customers, how these report could be

  1. Included in their personal menu

  2. Be emailed to them periodically

  3. Be amended by them

The session was very successful and achieved a high level of satisfaction

The customer has now returned with more ideas for improving report which we will be taking up

All of this work was done within the maintenance contract and therefore at no extra cost to the client
